Colourful houses in London
To me the true icons of Notting Hill are its colourful houses rather than Portobello Road market. It’s amazing how all of them are painted in bright or pastel colours and make every street look like a multi-coloured rainbow that goes along with you on your walk. I don’t know if there’s a scheme, a colour-plan, but the variety of different shades blends harmoniously, so it does the bare brick pattern combined with the thin or vivid colours of the facades.
I love almost all of them even if, I have to admit, I have a weakness for the softly pastel coloured ones. I find them so graceful, expecially if they have some decorations or details such as columns with capitals, a cornice or a little balcony. Don’t you agree!?
These are just few pictures but I may add more with time!
